  • Trends in fresh produce safety in the US – Produce Marketing Association
  • A trend we want to avoid – illegal pesticide use on Hawaii produce – Hawaii Dept of Health
  • “Prevention” is the word of the day! A food service company panel (Costco, Subway, Safeway, Sodexo)
  • What types of agricultural and food businesses will be impacted by the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and especially the “Produce Rule” when it is released (most likely after the US elections in November).
  • What are Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and Good Handling Practices (GHP)?
  • How to verify GAPs and GHPs are being implemented on the farm and distributor/wholesaler level – an auditors panel (Primus, USDA, NSF, HDOA)
  • How to prepare for an audit – CTAHR’s Farm Food Safety Coaching Team
  • Do you have risks on your farm? – Do a risk assessment now in the workshop – Produce Marketing Association
  • Get your GAPs on – start your GAPs manual and undestand your SOPs – standard operating procedures - Produce Marketing Association
  • BONUS session at end of workshop for RUP credits – “being in compliance with Federal and State pesticide laws”
