Hawai'i Chocolate and Cacao Association's 2nd Conference

The Hawai'i Chocolate and Cacao Association's Second Conference and Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 23rd, 2013. The HCCA Conference provides the best source of information on cacao and chocolate in Hawai'i and a fun environment to meet and exchange ideas with others working in the industry, including a unique opportunity to hear from chocolate experts from throughout the USA and mainland. Last year's event was attended by more than 50 cacao growers, chocolate-makers, professionals and enthusiasts from around the state.
Highlights of the 2013 Conference include:

Hawai'i's chocolate and cacao industry, due to it's nascent stage, has a unique opportunity to forge a culture of world-class quality spanning from farms to chocolate-makers to retailers. What strategic challenges do we need to address together to transform Hawai'i into a world-class origin for cacao and chocolate and build a thriving industry from the ground up? The morning's panels bring together expert voices from the islands and the mainland to highlight key issues for the future and exchange ideas with conference attendees.

2:45 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Guided Chocolate Tasting
Experience the finest chocolates from Hawai'i and around the world! Participants can visit tasting stations to experience a selection of the finest dark chocolates from around the world, including Domori, and Amano among others. Each station will be hosted by a chocolate expert to answer questions and provide information on the each chocolate. Chocolate-makers from the state of Hawai'i, amateur and professional alike, are invited to bring chocolate to sample as part of this informal tasting.
